Gumpoldskirchen in Lower Austria lies on the edge of the Vienna Basin on the slopes of the Vienna Woods.

The first settlements in this area took place 6500 years ago. Wine has already been grown here in pre-Christian times. In the 19th Century, the phylloxera attacked the wine cultures and devasted them completely.

Gumpoldskirchen Lower Austria

Gumpoldskirchen lies picturesquely between the vineyards and there is hardly a place where one can cozily chat over a glass of wine as at a wine tavern.

If you are lucky, you might even experience a live performance of an opera singer here.
