Silvretta Alps

The Silvretta Alps are a mountain range in the eastern Alps which belongs both to Austria and to Switzerland.

In Austria, the Silvretta Alps can be reached via the federal states Tyrol and Vorarlberg. The bendy Silvretta high Alpine road is one of the most beautiful mountain roads of the Alps and very popular with motorcyclists.

In 1951, the Silvretta reservoir was completed. It is certainly one of the most impressive reservoirs of the Tyrolean Alps. From here one has a magnificent panoramic view of the Montafon, an Austrian valley which extends to the city of Bludenz.
