Steppe animal park Pamhagen - Austria

Mangalitsa - Hungarian pg
The steppe animal park Pamhagen in the far eastern corner of the Seewinkel – the region between Neusiedl am See and Hungary - is the home of rare regional species.

One does not often have the opportunity to get so close storks. The Mangalitsa- a Hungarian pig -also called curly-hair hog, was one of the main meat suppliers in the Dual Monarchy of Austria-Hungary. Today it is mainly used for Vulcano ham and Jamón serrano as well as for salami.

Only seldom you can see the undemanding and endangered Hungarian Grey cattle.

Besides that you can find about another 50 species of animals in the family-friendly animal park.
The park is open from mid March to late October.
